Hi
My brother is in Australia travelling at the moment for a year. Just wondered if any one knew the cheapest way to call him??? We both have mobiles and broadband access mine is with AOL. I've heard of these internet phones but have not a clue how they work.

If he has broadband, he must have an Australian landline on which you can call him.
There are at least 4 gateway providers offering ½p/minute rates for calling Australian landlines from BT landlines. For simplicity, why not just use one of those?
http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/australiaTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
