Blanking an IKEA kitchen sink overflow

Hello, my double kitchen sink has an IKEA trap. The trap has a couple of connections for overflows one of which is unused and just covered by masking tape from the previous owner.
I want to blank it off as when I empty the second sink water is coming back up this connector.
The unused overflow is a plastic tube about 22mm diameter. The thickness of the plastic is only about 1mm. There's no thread or any connection mounts. It's literally just a hollow plastic tube. The length of the tube is only about 25mm.
Can anyone tell me how what I need to blank this off? All the stuff on Screwfix etc seems to be designed for a specific type of standard connection.

This will sound like a PITA, but can you disconnect the offending piece, then take it to a plumbing supplier like Drakes (the one I use) and say "I need to blank off this outlet". Chances are they'll have a push fit or something to do the job properly for you - Drakes have rescued me more than once!!0

Last resort just bung up the pipe with silicone. Might take a couple of goes to get it sealed but not that difficult.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Thanks, definitely not going to disconnect the trap

I've bought a stop cap with a very slightly bigger diameter and will use sealant and waterproof masking tape and a jubilee clip to get it sealed.0
