Small business account
Some time ago SSE suggested that I should move the electricity account for my stables to a small business account (it is not actually a business - just a private yard - but they thought it would be a better deal). I've now had a letter saying that I had failed to terminate my contractual arrangement, which was due to renew on 1st March, so they will now apply the Variable Business Rate to my account.
I didn't know that it was due to be renewed (there was no warning) and have no idea what the rates will be now. It all seems very technical and I'm lost!
Does anyone know if I would be better to continue with SSE and enter a new agreement with them, or try someone else? Would I be better to forget all about a small business deal and just have a standard one? I suppose then it would be easier to check different deals available. The whole thing is a headache I could do without, and I would be grateful for any advice.

Ring around the suppliers - go direct to their business section - don't use the brokers. You know your actual consumption for the last 12 months.
You need to formally write to terminate your contract - it doesn't work like the domestic market.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Thanks, I'll get on to that0
