Checking in day 1/19 AFDs. The last few Sunday’s I’ve been craving a glass of wine with my Sunday dinner, today when I could have one now dry January is over, I didn’t want one.......I’m so contrary!!!0

AFD 1/15. First of the month!
21/150 Annual target.Mortgage free by 33 - (21/07/22 - 32 years and a bit...)
Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)0 -
evening everyone! ended january on 20/25, thanks Shaggy - so didn't make target. However I'm on 2/29, for Feb so far. Hoping I can stick to the plan and have an AF month.0

HoneyBear if you're reading I hope verything is all right! You are missed!
Thank you Shaggy, and thank you to everyone else who said something similar. I've missed everyone, but I think I have to face up to the fact that much as I value everyone who's been so incredibly supportive of my AF journey for the past five and a half years on this MSE Thread, I may not contributing daily from now on. I keep meaning to and then life sort of happens every day. I have caught up this time but next time I may not and I don't feel right just dipping in occasionally. It's being part of the community that makes it so powerful.
There's nothing wrong in my life, I'm busy just getting on with things and still catching up on things that really slipped while I was drinking, and the leftovers of both my parents' deaths way back in the very early 2000s. This morning I managed to get a small job done that took about an hour that's been hanging around for two years.
I've cut back from three St John's Wort to two a day. That's a massive step for me but I won't know for three months whether I can make it permanent. I really, really hope so because it would be a big positive change and a reflection that things in my life are finally coming together healthily. Going AF was really only the beginning of the journey but without doing it my life as I knew it would have collapsed and could then never have been how I wanted it to be.
Honestly, without this thread I wouldn't have made it and none of you will ever know how much you all mean to me, but I *think* it's time for me to see if I can do without my training wheels. I'll still be around, trying to keep up but I'm not sure I'll manage that.
29 for Feburary please, Shaggy, and it was 31/31 in January plus 365 for 2019 Cathy Bird and 366 for 2020 if I may.
Thank you all for being there for me when I really, really needed you. Maman gets a special *mwah* from me, too, for being the first person on the thread to welcome me as far as I can remember, and telling me about the tiles in the railway station in Lisbon.
I'm a bit worried about the Forum changeover, so if I do have to come back as someone else, I really wanted to say all of that before I disappeared.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi HB, v glad to hear that you are ok but purely selfishly I’m a little sad that your post reads like a goodbye. It’s great that you got so much help from this thread but I have to say that, with your unflagging, enthusiastic, upbeat support and wise words of advice, you gave so much back and really helped to make this thread what it is.
Of course you have to do what feels right for you, but if you were able to dip back in, whenever you are able to, then I’m sure that even occasional contributions from you on this thread would be hugely valued. But I do get that you have to go with your instinct on this. Also, massive congratulations on another AF year completed and this current one already one month down.
2/24 for me please, I am counting today early. Thank you.1 -
Popping a check in early today to say 2/20 days.
Home from work early with a killer headache, so nothing but water and pain killers will be passing my lips!1
