This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."

Although the article is dated May 2018, it does also state "Last updated: 28 March 2019" and has various references to events that occurred in late 2018 (Chip) and early 2019 (Revolut), so is perhaps more up to date than you thought....

I don't recall hearing about Bank of Dave before, it'll be interesting to see if adopting a TV channel naming convention proves as successful in the world of retail banking!

I think the nickname has more to do with the founder, David Fishwick, than with the TV channel

Yes - I wasn't trying to imply that the bank was actually named after the TV channel, just that it's an unusual style of branding shared by both.

Rather than just being a nickname, it's been reported (albeit by a Daily Mail-owned site) that "Bank of Dave [...] will be the official name of the bank", although the use of double quotes at https://www.burnleysavingsandloans.co.uk/about-us/ may cast some doubt on that: 'Currently BSAL is applying to become a UK regulated bank; “The Bank of Dave”'!
