Reroofing two terrace houses

I have two houses next to each other on a terrace.
The current slate tiles will be removed, insulation will be added and both roofs will be retiled with concrete tiles.
I am also adding two velux windows.
Gone with concrete tiles as it's cheaper.
Adding insulation as loft bedroom is very hot in summer and cold in winter.
I am letting these out so don't want to spend too much.
Quote................ £23000!!!
I thought that was way too much, am I wrong?

The simple answer is if that's the only quite you have got, then get some more.0

Don't re-roof with concrete. It will make your bedroom ceilings bow.0

Possibly including the necessary reinforcement works for concrete tile weight if a reputable roofing company?
You will need Building Regs approval and bringing roof up to the latest insulation standards. You may need Planning and they could insist on reinstating slate if in certain areas? That also costs (does quote include for that?).
But you must get more quotes!
£11-12k per dwelling doesn't seem especially scary to me but then I'm in the SE of England...
Depends on what is included as well as the needed insulation, battens, membranes, eaves vents and tiles/flashing ... and the new Veluxes (which may cost a fair bit alone if they, say, need triple glazing to meet insulation/BR requirements) new soffits? new guttering? VAT? Scaffolding, skips / licences for same if on highway?0 -
Does this include the wall in the roof space? Vital for fire safety measure (and probably a legal requirement).0
