You mean because tummy bugs are rampant in Egypt.

You need to avoid ice, their water (I had a holiday in Egypt and found they even filter the water that they put in the dispenser (which will also make the soft drinks). I’ve been twice and vouch not to go again as the bug is something else. If you do go ask the pharmacy as there is stuff you can take, but it’s not for the faint hearted (and this is a lot of hotels as many are similar)

I have been to Egypt many times. I only stopped going because of security concerns. I nor my companion have ever been ill. Lucky? I take responsibility for my own health. Do not overindulge in food, alcohol or the sun! I also make copious use of hand sanitizers. After using the serving utensils in the buffet, sanitize before actually eating.

It can be the dubious hygiene of other guests which cause the problems rather than the food from the hotel. Also, the money is filthy. Clean hands after handing.

I would go back to Egypt in a heartbeat if the political climate was different. I now mostly go to the Canaries which are great but not the luxury for the similar or higher cost. Plus the weather is not as reliable!

Op, your hotel hasn't been downgraded, TUI have just removed it from their meaningless 'Platinum collection'.

To be fair there are a few rubbish reviews in March, your first mistake was reading the marketing guff and the second one booking with a tour operator.

I know plenty of people who've been to Egypt and not heard many issues with bugs.

we did look at going to Egypt but didn't like the resorts type holiday went to Barbados instead for the same money.

Love the red sea though spent many a holiday as a kid near Jeddah on the other side awesome snorkeling
