Draft Completion Statements...what now??

Selling and purchasing since beginning of Feb. We are ready to exchange, just waiting for our vendors, who apparently held back for 4 weeks before instructing and hadn’t even signed a contract when I last enquired (3 weeks ago) 🧐. My solicitor did request the vendor move so we could complete but they refused.

Anywhooo... we received our draft sale and purchase completion statements last week, does anyone have any ideas of how long after these being received would exchange take place?? TIA

How long is a piece of string. A average time scales are around 3 months but even that is very loose.

What should be straight forward like my last one which with no finance, no survey , empty house should have been over and done with in a couple of weeks tops but turned into 13 long weeks of hell

I'd say with a very slow vendor it could take a while or not at all as they don't sound too committed

We bought a vacant house for cash so no mortgage and no chain and the whole thing took 5 months. You just can't tell how long something will take.

Sorry, everything's been ready for the vendor to sign and exchange for a month - and you've not chased for the last three weeks...?

Get chasing! Find out why. Find out what's holding it all up. Is the chain having a wobble? How serious? Are they having second thoughts?

It's simply impossible to guesstimate when they'll decide to sign. Or, even, if.

Somewhere between a week and a year.

What's your vendors position? How many parties are above them in the chain. Being at the bottom is frustrating as everyone else is behind you.
