Switching to Santander Lite

I don't think its worth my wife keeping her Santander current account as she pays no bills from it. The bulk of the money would be better off in Marcus etc.
Does "downgrading" to Lite actually involve any real changes ie Bank acc number and can it be done with a few clicks whilst online ?
I presume you lose the opportunity to contribute to their regular saver, which has just matured and is now down to 3% ?
Cheers

You presume wrongly. May I suggest you read the T&Cs of the Santander 123 Lite

Santander 123 Lite is part of what they refer to as Santander World, therefore it would be possible to keep the regular saver account.
Have you considered jugging your household bill payments so they are paid from her Santander account?
As far as I know she would keep the same account number if she switches to a different type of account.0 -
Having looked into it further it would probably make sense to both switch, I pay 80% of our DD's from the currentOver £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016 :beer:0

To downgrade to 123 lite while logged in, use the apparently paradoxical 'upgrade online' option on the rh side ... then 123 lite/apply/transfer existing.0
