Morning all
Its a bit overcast here today but its dry which is the main thing, have got some washing on the go and will hang it out after this.
Need to go shopping today I fancy lamb now so might get a bit for tomorrow, might do tapas type things tonight, I have a jar of tuna pieces in a spiced brine that we bought on the island we went to in Greece last year they are famous for it, will do a tomato and mozzarella salad with it, I am looking forward it.
House wants a quick tidy this morning but not much to do, and there are a few loads of washing.
Might have a nana nap this afternoon just because I can
Have good days all xx0 -

Morning all! Thought I'd locked the cat out last night as per instruction, shut the dor behind him, went to bed about an hour and a half later, just got into bed and the blanket on to warm, had already checked under the bed to make sure he wasn't in and what di I hear? Jingle jingle jingle. Little sod was in the OHs work bag that holds all his work clothes wedged to the side of the drawers....We're going to have words today...
Am meeting a couple of friends later and going to a craft sale [uh oh] but I don't need anything, although gadjets are always welcome, like bias binding makers for example, I have a couple of really big ones that I was using when i was making large throws, and I've just got myself a seam rule, but a self healing mat wouldn't come amiss, or some tack removers...But I'll be good....
OH will probably be in bed when I get back, he came home late and cat woke him up after a couple of hours [ I am not sympathetic] and he's gaming at the moment, so he'll crash before long
Father has been to see the doc and got his mole removed and all is well there. Sister has taken him to Waitrose for tea and cake as a panacea and for being a big brave soldier
Glad you can hear again Scarlet and have a lovely time away..Nelski, enjoy lazy day..and I'm still really sorry! dumpling, that doesn't sound very good, have you got someone coming to see you? OL, tried the voice control thing for computers? Gers probably a good thing you lost it a little bit, might have shaken her out of her complacency a bit. Knowing someone is worried and seeing the results o that worry are two different things. Tell her I said stop being a stubborn muleSpeky, enjoy your weekend at home!

Afternoon all. Sunny here atm. I have a load of washing on the line but it is a bit chilly here so fingers crossed. I stripped the double bed and will make it after lunch so John can have his nap. I expect I will have the usual fight with the fitted bottom sheet lol.
John and I had a little walk out today round the corner and up the road. John's balance is not 100% yet but he didn't need my arm so all good.
Dunpling take care
Holly H rest up hun. Gers enjoy your walk. Lamewolf if you are reading along have some healing vibrs and Mr Wolf too.
Hugs to all and enjoy your afternoon.

Afternoon - shopping trip was successful, mind you I reversed into a huge great white post whilst parking. That, despite reversing cameras and sensors. I blame the stress and the stupid driver behind who stopped so close to me I didn't have enough room. Oh no... it's still my own fault, I know! Car is scratched, life is intact. Bought another tin of gin as recompense. :rotfl:
I was astonished to find DM sitting up in bed reading - first time in a week. Perhaps a corner has been turned? :j
My dearest friends are travelling up from Newcastle area to spend a week in the holiday cottage near to my place - it's rubbish that I won't be there as we all have such a great time together. They are going to stop off in Glasgow to meet up with me for coffee and chat. The best I can offer them is the cafe in Tesco!
I've set up mail redirection for up to three months. Don't think I'll need it that long but I am stressing about my post. My friends will bring the accumulated (four weeks) pile back down with them so I can plough through it. Then the barn door can be closed and my wood not on view.
Silver-Oldie / Organza Lace - yes, personal and nursing care is free for over 65s in their own home. https://www.mygov.scot/personal-nursing-care/costs/ Seems that this is cheaper than having someone in hospital as well as being better for them. That along with free prescriptions for all really does help. I know it's not really 'free' and there will be a price to pay eventually in taxes when / if independence arrives. I think of all this largesse as a form of bribery!
Gintot - lovely to read about John going for a walk, he's doing so well!
Taff - DM says she's not stubborn, just 'free thinking'!
Snoozer - such cheery news about Laura, such a relief for her and the family.
Off to make tea for the patient - she has a habit of leaving it to cool down too long. The record for reheats is four before I make a fresh cup.0 -
Afternoon all. What a warm and sunny day we are having. If my gammy hips and dodgy knees weren't being such a b****y nuisance at the moment I would be out doing a bit of gardening.
As it is I have just defrosted the big freezer. Yeah! It is now all tidy and the inventory is up to date (again!) As a reward for being such a good girl I left out a chocolate eclair and have just enjoyed that with a cup of coffee! Then I wonder why I can't shift this half a stone that's crept on over the winter!
I had a text off DD to say only 2 DGDs were with me tonight. Middle one is staying at her friends house.
TAFF I often wonder about WEE MIDGIE too. She was a regular for quite a while and I used to love her chatty posts. Then she just stopped posting without warning which is a worry. I hope she is ok. A lot of regulars have disappeared on us over the years.
I watched an old film I recorded on Talking Pictures last night - "Seance on a Wet Afternoon". It was a really good film but I found it quite disturbing and I expected it to keep me awake but oddly it didn't!
There are plenty of jobs I could find if I felt so inclined - but I don't feel inclined so it's feet up time with my book I think. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hello all
I did a lot of gaming last night with the 2 kids ( DGS and Mr Fix It :rotfl: ) so my neck and shoulder is feeling a bit stiff this morning..... serves me right as I should have stopped at the first twinge.
Today I have the Saturday scrubbage to do although I did clean the bathroom last night. I found a large bag of rhubarb in Dad's freezer yesterday so I will make some rhubarb crumbles. I shall have to feed the birds too as the doves are gathering on the patio looking forlorn. Other than that the day is my own :j.
Dad just rang so I have to go to town to sort something out with him...........
I'm back !! I started this post at 10 am
Dad had a "banking emergency", as he had put a cheque into B Soc ISA but it was returned as it was incomplete (?) and he was panicking like Corporal Jones !! It turns out that he had put the amount in the words section and no one noticed  Anyway another crisis averted although he was miffed because he had wanted to put the money in for last year and now it's in the first day of the new tax year. He then wanted to wander around town, which was heaving, but I said no as I had things to do at home (see above) so he sulked ! I do hope he's not losing the plot as I think that would push me right over the edge.
I have dusted and hoovered downstairs and made 2 rhubarb crumbles for Dad and a blackberry one for us, using some of our own blackberries from last year, as Mr Fix It detests rhubarb.
Mr Fix It had cleaned the kitchen and fed the birds by the time I got back, I think he's a keeper :happyhear.
Tea will be steak and chips, followed by crumble and ice cream.
ScarlettR enjoy your break. Any chance of a little stow away ? I'm not very big and I'm house trained. It's either that or 'Arry Potters cupboard again :rotfl:.
Gers I hope DM is now on the road to recovery, even if it is very slow progress.
Snoozer Go Laura and baby Snoozer !! I do hope everything goes well.
Gintot well done to John, baby steps and all that.
taff glad your DF's mole removal went well. Must be the week for that as DD had one removed at the hospital this week but she has to wait for the results, up to 6 weeks apparently. Now, now, no new gadgets allowed.
Dumpling take care of that leg and rest as much as you can.
I'm off to make a coffee and have some chocolate nuts and raisins I found hiding in the cupboard yesterday, then have a web wander while Mr Fix it watches "Waterloo" the Napoleon one not Abba .
Love and hugs to all
