Question regarding ESA premium

Hello.

I have just had my decision overturned at my PIP appeal. I was awarded Standard mobility and enhanced daily living. My partner has also been awarded his carers allowance back as he is the one who cares for me. I am just wondering how this will affect my current claim with ESA. Will I be entitled to any premiums, if so.... which ones? I have been informed that if I am, they will also backdate the premium back to the starting date of my claim.

ESA, PIP, and my partners carers is the only income we receive. We get help with housing benefit and council tax. If you have any helpful information that would be great, thanks

You would not get severe disability premium because you do not live alone.
  • You won't get it because you have a carer.

If you are income based ESA with your partner on the claim you will be entitled to have the carer premium included in the calculation £36/week which will increase your entitlement. However your partner’s Carer’s Allowance will be take into account as income. Your ESA will actually go down but overall, Asa couple, you will be better off by the £36/week.

If you have not already done so you need to ring ESA and let them know of the PIP and CA awards.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

If not already included (Support Group ESA only) then the enhanced disability premium at £24.10 should now also be added to any Income Based ESA.

Info on the Enhanced Disability Premium:

    "Enhanced disability premium
To get this, you must be under pension credit age.
You must get the disability premium or income-related ESA, and one of the following:
PIP daily living component at the higher (‘enhanced’) rate
    AFIP
DLA care component at the highest rate
You’ll also get this if you’re in the support group for income-related ESA."
