Credit Associations

Options
Hi! I don’t know who to speak to about this issue. In December I tried to get car finance with my mother as a guarantor which we never ended up going through with. I was trying to get a student credit card recently to boost my credit score which I was declined so I checked on Equifax and it said she was a credit association with one company. I searched online and it said there is a way to get rid of credit associations if you are no longer in association with them (does not going through with the credit with her mean this is the case???) Is there any way to get rid of my mother off my credit as it really is having a negative effect on me. Will there be any way to get rid of her off it or try boost my credit score since I am being declined a credit card because of my “credit associations”

Thank you for reading, open to any suggestions.

File a notice of disassociation if you have no joint products.

Forget about 'boosting' the pretend credit score.

Just focus on creating solid credit history.

If you have no joint financial products with your mother then she should not be listed as associated. You can request the association to be removed on this basis.
Just out of curiosity, why exactly do you believe that this financial association is having a detrimental effect on your ability to get credit? The fact that your credit card application was declined is not, in itself, evidence of this. Who told you that your credit card application was declined due to your credit associations'?
