Christmas School Craft Fair...

Hi there ... I need inspiration!
We (playgroup) have a stall at our local primary school's Christmas Fair ... but currently no idea as to what to sell!
Apart from "Reindeer Food" and Christmas Cards made by the kids...
Desperately need inspiration on things that we (I) can make, which are Christmas orientated and cheap ... and not food based, as there will be a separate cake stall, and we'd best not step on their toes, if you see what I mean!

We've made plain Christmas cookies before and let the kids decorate them with icing/sprinkles etc - always gone down really well.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

These look pretty easy. I love this blog0

Simple felt decorations for the tree. Cut out snowmen, trees, bells out of the appropriate coloured felt, attach a cord loop to the top and get the kids to decorate with sequins, glitter etc. PVA glue dries clear.
Or some small tiles (v cheap from DIY store) get kids to cover them with pictures cut from Christmas paper or old cards. Cover with a coat of clear varnish - christmas coasters.
Salt dough decorations for the tree or table are also good - there are loads of books on these in the library - one year we made candle holders - twisted plait made into circle to hold the candle, decorated with cut out holly leaves and berries in dough as well.
HTH - can't tell I'm a Beaver leader can you!“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I love those stuffed penguins and the felt ideas are great also.
As for the salt dough ideas, I'm going to give that a whirl this weekend and see how "unartistic" I am, LOL....
The cookies, I'd probably just end up eating
Any more ideas ... welcomedGC - March 2024 -0 -

Could you buy candles cheaply (from IKEA?) and decorate them with coloured/gold/silver ribbon?0

We did festive bookmarks one year. Like others we've also done tree decorations [we cut out shapes in cardboard and then decorated with pasta shapes we'd sprayed gold]

You might get more ideas on the celebrations board, so I've moved your thread over there.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Baker ross do stuff specifically for fundraising if you're thinking of using stuff other than home-made.

I saw some 'Snowmen Pencils' in a magazine last month (think it was a supplement with last months Prima magazine).
You just superglue 2 small white pom-poms onto the top of a pencil and decorate the snowman using bits of felt (for a carrot nose, eyes and scarf) and superglue them on too. They looked cute and should be fairy cheap to make.
