Issues with switching due to E7 meter
Options
Currently on Economy 7 tariff with a Day / Night Meter. Wanting to switch both Gas & Elec and move to away from the E7 tariff to a normal one as have no need for E7. However, the cheaper providers I checked with are unable to deal with the 2 readings from day/night Elec meter and say I have to switch with E7 (which I don’t want) or get my current supplier to change meter (which they will not do). So looks like may have to stay with one of the bigger firms and not get the savings I want

Get you supplier to change your meter to a single rate one - they may charge you!
If they won't do it, either raise a complaint and eventually pass it to the ombudsman if necessary.
Or switch to a new supplier on E7, and ask them to change your meter
Choose your supplier wisely - I've never had any issue with a Big 6 supplier.
Then, in future, you can choose any supplier you like, and not be worried by cheap rate electicity 7 hours every day0 -
you could do what benight said. Or alternativley change your meter to a one rate meter. If you get your supplier to change you to one rate but keep the e7 meter then you may struggle to switch through comparison services in the future. Some smaller suppliers will put you on one rate if you go direct, its just difficult finding them!0
