downloading music on mp3/4

I am a complete technophobe and want to know how to get music onto an mp3/4 player 4gb. I know with the Apple ipods you have to use i tunes, but what about other makes? do they all have their own indiviual ones?

No they all just use MP3s and most if not all places, besides Itunes, sell MP3s.0

Depends what you buy.. most decent brands will come with software to rip CDs (turn CD music into mp3s) and transfer it onto the player
