Dart Charge Website Adding new vehicle WARNING !!!
Crossed with new car yesterday. Already registered with 2 other cars, so added the new one on in the evening. Today, still no sign of the charge. Emailed a few times, tried to get through on their contact number, "Stay on the line for other issues" - drops the line - have to press '0' to get through...
Anyhow, IMPORTANT, the system will not log your crossing into your account. Very dumb, the guy I spoke to was very defensive. I guess his whole job is wasting time (our money) doing this manually. Even though I'd logged in and added the car reg to my account, he insisted on passing data protection checks before finally allocating the charges to my account.
What a waste of time/resources. Why can't their IT dept get this sorted out - I guess they make some money in fines though people not realising this is happening.
I've now -£5 on the account, he said it would debit from my credit card at 1am tonight - strictly speaking AFTER the end of the "pay by midnight next day" - although perhaps they work on GMT rather than BST ? But what if the card is declined, or out of date ? I would then (perhaps) be notified by email ? Even so, too late to avoid penalty ! He said "It's your responsibility to ensure your card is valid/in credit and in date.
Really pathetic.:T

So you crossed before adding the new car to your account? Then expected them to look back for any pending charges on the same reg? That was a bit optimistic IMHO...I need to think of something new here...0

And if they backdated the charges the OP would have been Dartcharge took all my money on a car I just registered with them.
Previous owner didnt pay any charges.. maybe?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
