Focus Not Starting

Morning, I'm after a bit of advice please. Got a 2013 diesel Focus sat on the drive that has decided it doesn't want to start. Am i reading this wrong but they said that the car would not start ( not even turn over ) but tried jummper leads and would still not turn over.
Sounds like starter motor trouble or the relay to me,
If it turns over but does not start would check heater plugs/relay/fuse.
