You are very likely to pay two as particularly the smaller suppliers take a payment right at the beginning of the contract.
You could cancel the existing suppliers DD but at a penalty of being charged at standard rates.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
You never pay twice for the same consumption, your new supplier would ask for readings to open their account which would be validated and used to close your account with the old supplier.
You may end up making two payments closer together, one to new and one to old but it won't be for the same energy0 -
Many thanks for the replies, apparently the new provider takes first payment in advance this makes me think that I would be paying existing provider this month and the new one if they take payment in advance. There is no exit fee for leaving early, but the final payment will be this month anyway, and contract ends in May.0
