Morning all :snow_laug:snow_laug
Well we have woken to about 2-3 ins of snow . So all the schools are shut and the buses stopped ! ( any excuse for that to happen ) It's now turned to rain/sleet but the forecast is for more of the white stuff.
Not going anywhere today or doing much in the way of housework. I only have to put my dining table back to normal and I need help with that but Mr Fix it is gaming at the moment with the DGS. Thank goodness DGS headphones arrived...... they are having a whale of a time shooting zombies and each other :rotfl:. DD gave me the Bohemian Rhapsody film for part of my Mothers day present, so I shall sit and watch that and just chill today :j.
Don't know what to have for tea but we certainly won't starve. Tea yesterday was lovely but loud . Everyone was having to shout as Dad forgot his hearing aid and DGD decoded to give us a rendition of every song she knew, from Easter songs through to Jingle bells :rotfl:. I'm sure she has no volume control or off switch :rotfl:. So today it's back to peace and quiet :shhh: shhhhh !
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.
Hugs to all

-taff and TA, yes, I liked him too, and was very impressed by the jellyfish dress, I just felt the execution let it down (if he'd had more time it would have been spectacular). I was sorry that Jenny went home the week before because she was such a good sewer - it seemed that if you threw a load of contrasting patterns and colours like Leah then Esme loved it, or am I a complete fuddy-duddy.
I'm stlll in my dressing gown, I didn't wake up finally until 10.00 so I feel a bit lazy. We've not got any plans but may well go for a walk somewhere this afternoon.0 -
Taff: The meds are the only ones that the Dr feels will help, if at all. At the same time The Dr put me on BP medication, I think the two are warring. I have an appointment with the Dr will see what she has to say. In the mean time two matchsticks are in use for the eyelids!!0

Morning
taff Thanks for that lovely I had the final to watch this evening ...oh well thats what I get for saving it :rotfl:
TA Last time i spoke to Holly she was getting through her radio with her usual positive attitude but is suffering the side effects and is tired lots. I will see if I can get a chat later but I'm always conscious about waking her
SO Hey thread sister I got a cheque yesterday too ...first one in years. Sadly it was only for £16 and is hardly worth sending once I have paid the postage to send (no local branch) and my bank takes its share for cashing. Not a very MSE attitude though so I will I promise (when i can be bothered to go and buy some ridiculously expensive stamps )
candygirl how are you chick?
Sales day today and I have an appointment made in Bridgend which if my memory serves (which it doesn't always ) is somewhere near nanny so please get rid of the snow by next week please love if you would
Food wise I had a lamb burger yesterday with some chips and salad. Today I am starting to get to the middle layer of the 1st freezer so some of the food is a real surprise like todays ...Glamorgan sausages ....I vaguely remember making these from my Hairy biker phase but goodness knows how long ago. Need to think of a way not to just eat off the top layer when I do get round to filling it again which is still ages away. Anyway I found some corn o the cob too so its a veggie mish mash tonight
Have a great day all and sorry to hear about poorly people and horses0 -
Hello Everyone
I've just grabbed 5 mins - DGS is having a sleep (very tiring going swimming!) and DGD has gone for a walk to Aldi with her Dad for supplies. We're having a great week with lots to see and do although the weather has been really grotty - cold, wet and windy. I think the highlight has been going to see ' Dippy' who is presently in Glasgow. The children really loved seeing it and the staff were very helpful taking photos, etc.
I think my little visitors leave tomorrow, I'll be sorry to see them go but I am a bit exhausted! One long round of cooking, washing and entertaining but I really wouldn't change a thing.
I hope you are all OK, normal service will be resumed soon. Take care. XX0 -
Afternoon all. Just waiting fr my Tosco order to arrive. John is having a nap. I have moved the shoe rack and spring cleaned the porch this morning. Last week's delivery man felt I should have opened both doors so he could get the crates in easily so I needed to move the shoe rack before today's delivery. Sigh.
The delivery has arrived. No pork available for Sunday lunch meh. I was trying to avoid having to ask DS to take me shopping.
Well I will love you and leave you ae we have friends arriving shortly for coffee.

Nelski sorry but Bridgend is on the wrong side of Cardiff, I'm nearer the Seven bridges. Most of the snow has gone but we now have heavy hailstones
.
I hope it clears for next week too as we have a school pick up, Mr Fix It's new chair delivery at last, 'cos his is hanging on by a thread, then I've got a check up at the dentist and DGD is participating in an Easter bonnet parade through the village, which we will watch and film for DD and SiL. Phew !!
I've just watched my film and thoroughly enjoyed it, so if you like Queen I'd recommend it :T. I even forgot that it was Rami Malik and not Freddie when they were singing !
Camelot I agree that sometimes it is exhausting but as you say, I wouldn't change anything. Life's too short and I don't want to go to my grave with any regrets ( Sorry that was a bit deep. I think that film got to me more than I realised)

Due to Tuesday's fiasco, I'm now injured, too - my bad knee took a real shaking up, and now I can't put any weight on that leg at all.
Bummer, really. Wish you hadn't asked, now?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Nelski, give a wave to my Chris who is still working in Bridgend during the week. He's only got a couple more months and then he'll be back home to stay, he can't wait.
LW, I'm sorry you are both suffering, I hope it gets better soon.
Steve is asleep, he did some gardening and knocked himself out - he is so gungho when he thinks he is ok.
I went into Bedford for the first time in ages, so long in fact that the car park I was intending to use had been turned into a cinema. I treated myself to some new frying pans, I know how to live!0 -
Morning all from a very wet and cold mehefinland ( with a yellow warning for snow too )
News on bruisemare is not good. Had to have vet out on Saturday afternoon as she was in a right state. The vet thinks she has laminitis , purely because she is constantly shifting her weight and has a rapid digital pulse in all her feet. We and stevie2shoes are not convinced! There is no heat in the hooves ( a classic symptom) and when he used the hoof testers ( it applies pressure in different parts of the foot) there was no reaction whatsoever. So for the moment she is on deep litter box rest, 4 bute a day  and a strict diet.
Scoobymare has the equine equivalent of a smirk re the last bit :rotfl:.
So with all the extra work, checking on her, worrying ( especially at night) etc. I am pretty knackered.
Another vet due tomorrow to give Bruise her flu jab so we will re-assess her then.
Otherwise life drags on as usual. Lainey can you order books from other libraries in the county online? I do it lots here as our library is only small ( and run by volunteers) and they send them over quite quickly as a rule. They do DVD and talking books the same way too.
Hugs and spoons to those in need. Keep warm folks

Sorry to hear that your mare is still struggling, would it be worth getting your vet to check her insulin level? Also how does she go on a tight circle on hard standing, that was the first thing that my pal picked up on when her elderly gelding was diagnosed, his stride shortened considerably despite showing not much else in the way of symptoms.0
