Please help. CPN in own car park bay

Hi all. Hoping for some small help.

I own a flat and own the parking space in the underground secure car park.

I always park my car properly and display my permit. However CPM fined me in my own space in September. The grounds they state is that although the permit was on display and you could see the bay, the permit had slightly slipped and the full date was not valid.

I appealed with a nice appeal letter saying apologies and also attaching the full permit. I also took action to make sure the permit wouldn’t slip which I told them by taping the permit to ensure it won’t move. The permit in fact was showing. The space that it covered was showing as well as for which vehicle (any) and only a small part of the year was slightly hidden.

CPN has not accepted any appeal and is now having a debt collection agency trying to charge me not only the ticket (60) but an additional charge (extra 100). I know lots of other residents have issues with being fined on minor issues.

Any advice welcome. I have paid 15,000 for this parking space and have the lease which does say use the permit.

Who are CPN? Full name of firm, please.

Are they BPA or IPC AOS members?

Hang on, you OWN the parking space?

WHY are you displaying a permit to park on your owned land, tell the parking firm to clear off and stop trespassing, as you do not authorise them in your bay.

Tell them to get lost, for good, for ever, and tell your managing Agents that you opt your bay OUT of the nasty little scheme and have never agreed to it.

Why the Hell are all the residents being so weak?

    thank you

the company is UK Car Park Management (Limited) CPM. they state on their website they are IPC and BPA members

I own the space as a leaseholder but the landlord (developer) does state in the lease to use the permit provided. so that i think is ok i just dont think its right given the permit was valid, the bay applicable was showing, the car and a slight part of the date missing...(valid to date)

No, they don't. This is covered in the Q&A in the NEWBIES thread.

You certainly have a case to defend when UKCPM use Gladstones to file a claim. Happens all the time and we win 99% of them - see any UKCPM Gladstones thread.

No risk, nothing bad, no CCJ, no huge costs at stake. 99% win rate here.

YOU REALLY NEED TO GET UKCPM KICKED OUT.

YOU DO NOT NEED THESE EX-CLAMPERS ON SITE, SO GET THE RESIDENTS TOGETHER AND COMPLAIN.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DISPLAY A PERMIT IN YOUR OWNED SPACE YOU PAID FOR.

    :)

ahh ok thank you for the help then... i will have look at the thread.. i am thinking of calling UK CPM tomorrow and ask them to drop this as i plan to keep defending. maybe if the person on the phone is more logical i can avoid the hassle..if not ill revert to the thread and any questions let you know i suppose.

thank you...thats exaclty my thoughts...15,000 GBP for a space..i own it...the permit was there... being fined on a minor part of the permit not showing dosent seem right

Nasty ex clampers. You DO NOT want to speak to the likes of them.

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A truly HORRIBLE company, you are not going to get logic or 'customer service' you know! That's why you need these chancers kicked out.

Because there is a very real risk that they will, by asking questions, trick you into giving them information you would rather they wouldn't have.

Oh... and a phone call suggesting they give up will have no effect at all. Their modus operandi is to pester people until they pay. Giving up because they have no case doesn't fit with that at all.
