Parking over 30 minutes in KFC fine!

Hello All,
I was hoping someone could help me.
I was absolutely gobsmacked to receive a parking ticket from Civil Enforcement LTD for parking in KFC Deptford, London for over 30 minutes. I was in the carpark for a total of 42 minutes. I appreciate my opinion on how ridiculous this is, is irrelevant however I wanted to ask for some help.
The fine was originally 100 pounds and I did appeal with with popla which was deemed unsuccessful. Below is the grounds I appealed on;
- Unfairly issued as I was a genuine KFC customer, proof sent.
- The que in KFC was long and it took me a while to get served, I didn't feel it was fair to expect someone to be served and eat within 30 minutes.
- This is an extremely disproportionate and not a genuine pre-estimate of loss. The amount charges is not based upon any genuine pre-estimate os loss to the company or landowner. In this case, the 100 charge far exceeds the cost to the landowner as I only overstayed 12 minutes therefore the fine is excessive.
I appreciate now that I should have better educated myself before appealing however I didn't dream that they would reject my appeal considering I was a genuine customer and only overstayed 12 minutes.
The appeal was rejected and I have subsequently received a letter threatening to take me to court if I don't pay by the 11/04/19 and increasing the fine to 140!
I don't really know what I should do now.. I don't want to pay because it is complete extortion however I have read that it is a very bad idea to ignore these letters.. Any help?

I wish you'd come here when you got the PCN. One email of the forum template from the NEWBIES thread, and it would have been cancelled, no POPLA needed.
Did you miss the NEWBIES thread? I mean, did you miss that it covers how to win in court, too? Second post is for you, and post #4 about debt letters.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why wasn't your first action to complain to KFC?0
