I got in at 7.30 in Exeter, and there was no queue, BUT there was a full A4 sheet of paper with names down it, so I got added in, called at 2pm by Makro to say it was reserved for me and I collected in the evening....
To say I got some funny looks from other people at the electrical counter as I put MY DVD player kit in my trolley would be an understatement. (especially when they asked the salesperson if they had more...) I had little flashes in my imagination of being done over as I left the store - A little like that Ikea thing in London back along....Money saving:
Buy a Skoda. Laugh at the VWs who paid several grand more
Its a diesel. 50mpg - laugh at all the petrols
Its a tuned 260bhp diesel - laugh at them in the rearview mirror as they vanish

I rang the Nottingham store today after reading on this thread at lunchtime today about further deliveries. None left again but got my name on the list in case any more arrive.
I then rang the Leicester store and nearly fell off my chair when the assistant said she would keep me one for an hour. Zoomed down the motorway from Nottingham in my lunch break and collected it. Tried to pick up a spare for one of you guys but they had all gone.
I recommend ringing up and getting your name on the list.
If I get a call from Nottingham when they get stock I will let you know.
Many thanks to the OP. :beer:0 -

Yeah but the stupid thing is that Makro is meant to be a wholesaler so customers are expected to buy in bulk. Of course this is crap, most people at Makro are buying for their family and personal use.
I didn't check Makro Cardiff for this deal, I did get the mail and saw the offer, thinking hmm that is a good deal. But I don't have kids so I have no need for it.
As an aside to people saying there were lots of people queing and only 40 in stock. The ASA has rules that a store must stock up sufficiently to meet demand. But Makro will just argue it had problems with the suppliers, in reality they should have stocked up way before they intended to go to print.
A complaint was made about stock levels to the ASA about Lidl, this guy said he was first in the queue on the morning and was told they didn't have any in stock, however Lidl said (and gave evidence to the ASA to prove it) that these items were sold at that store on that day, they couldn't explain what had happened. (I can, it was probably the staff keeping them for their mates). Lidl did find a product and gave it to the complainant as a "sorry".0
