Are you absolutely certain ?

Customer Service at my local Makro got it all wrong when they looked at the computer system as opposed to when I spoke to the actual "man in the know" at the "Electrical desk". He pointed out that customer service would not know that the delivery had not arrived (unless the electrical manager had "informed" them) and that the numbers "in stock" on the computer is likely to be "very misleading".

Additionally at well past 8 o'clock last night (Tuesday evening) the price on the system for these was £200 (+vat) and the "electrical man" said that due to the few of these that would be available (as and when) there was no way that the £99 price would be updated before 7:30AM this morning.

Also re quantities. I was told "normal" stores (size wise that is) were supossedly getting 40 of these players each. The larger branches - like Sheffield and Manchester - should be getting a few more - possibly as many as 100.

None in stock at Nottingham this lunchtime and someone on the Customer Services Desk rang both Leicester and Coventry and neither of these have any stock either.

They definatly had some as there were a few customers left in the store clinging to them like they were life support machines lol there was apparently loadsa people quing to get in at 7:30am, mind you weather or not a few were stashed for staff is another matter lol.

my lovely mother-in-law got to our local store at 6.35am, she was first in the queue and she GOT ONE. Thats the kids' birthdays sorted.....She said the queue was massive and a lot of disappointed people left the store empty handed - there was only 40 in stock.

Although Glasgow had no stock this morning they were taking phone numbers, I was not expecting to hear anything but at 11.00 AM got a call to say one had been reserved until close tomorrow night, not wanting to wait that long went straight from work and got it. Kids are well pleased.

They had a sign up saying the Centurion ones were all sold out but were doing a Goodmans single screen model for £84.99 for anyone that missed out out on the Centurion.

Does anyone know from experience what happens if you had bought one yesterday at £200, and then taken it back today, claimed a refund and bought it again - ie don't let it out of your hand (or if desperate use a credit card guarantee to ensure that they fork out the difference instead of you?).

Went to N Acton Makro yesterday morning and they ran out two people before me. Hence the person befor and quite a few behind me were complainig (this was at 8ish yesterday morning). They didn't know when they would be getting any more, but asked us to leave name and telephone number & they would contact us if any more arrived. Got phone call at work yesterday saying they had received some more and would be in today. Didn't expect call, thought they were fobbing us off. Phoned this morning to confirm that it was they and sent hubby, once there no sign of my order, after a few words with the manager it was found!!!

Go to your nearest Makro and ask to be put on the waiting list.

I got one and very please with it and for Makro's customer services. Welldone

tescos sell a goodmans one for £99.00. I think its the GDVD 67. Its also 7" and can be made multiregion!! for free.

The beckton E6 store has loads.
