I opened mine in 1989 and it came with a £250 overdraft as standard (never used). So it was like that for a long while ...0

Hmmm, maybe I'm wrong then, and I have actually got a £250 free overdraft on that account. It doesn't show up on Experian or on First Direct online banking, and overdrafts are not something I have ever used nor do I anticipate ever needing one, so I wouldn't know, but I assumed I'd see a reference to it somewhere if it existed.0

I can see the overdraft limit when I use the app. My Noddle credit history shows the limit monthly, for the last 6 tax years, i.e. going back to April 2013. Haven't checked any of the others but assume they'd show the same.
If yours doesn't show, may be you asked them at some stage to remove/reduce the overdraft facility? Why not give them a call, they are said to have systems with legendary memory about your account history.0 -

I gave them a call, and they confirmed there is definitely no overdraft facility on the account at all.
I do remember when I opened the account they asked me why I wanted it, and I said that it was purely and solely because it was a prerequisite to gain access to another one of their products, and I didn't actually need the current account at all. They were happy with that answer, but maybe that's why they didn't give me an overdraft.0
