living on main road - lorries crashing in potholes - structural damage

Has anyone got experience of living on a main road used by HGVs, that persistently smash through potholes sending percussion waves through the house? Has your house been damaged and have you claimed compo? I remember reading years ago about people claiming for damage caused to their house from SPEED BUMPS, but potholes? Sometimes they even wake me up going BANG into the holes. Further down my road there are some real beauties so whoever lives there must be getting the full bang crash wallop treatment!
EDIT - just had a letter from the council saying the road is being totally resurfaced. Thaaaanks

report the pot holes to the council. You can do this online with my council and they get fixed pretty fast if sizeable/on a main road.0

Pot holes need reporting. Most councils have their own web facility, but if not, you can use "Fix My Street."

I live next to a private speed hump of sorts. When an octogenarian neighbour with horses got fed up with vans bumping over it and scaring them, she bought a bag or two of instant tarmac and we flattened it out together, urban guerrilla-style. She's gone now, but the tarmac's still working!:rotfl:0 -
I did this through fix my street. I said it was urgent and could cause an accident. They responded quickly and fixed them. I'm moving house because of this problem if vibration (rental thankfully). I have to have white noise at night.0

We also reported through Fix My Street at a previous address (a rural A road). Our three storey, old stone and thatched house shook from the bottom up each time an hgv thundered through the village, hitting every pothole...grrr!
It did get fixed, but tbh we were at the bottom of a hill so the repairs didn't make much difference. In the end we sold up as the noise/shaking/vibrations became unbearable.Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I use Fixmystreet a lot, it sends reports to the council - but I suspect it depends on the council. Aberdeen City Council keep closing my reports and saying the potholes are fixed. Mostly they’re not, they have “fixed” a couple but did such a shoddy job they’ve reopened.0
