Hi

I'm currently on British Gas Energy Plus Protection under Jan 20. In the latest newsletter it mentions existing customers can also switch to a new tariff 'if you know how' but then it doesn't say how!

Is it as simple as using the energy club link to swap and presumably because you are not leaving the supplier there is no exit fee? Do you also qualify for cashback?

Many thanks

<<You'll need smart meters (if you don't have them already) to qualify unless they can't be fitted for technical reasons. They're free and just mean you don't need to give meter readings in future.>>

<<The Energy Plus Boiler Cover April 2020 is the cheapest big six deal on the market on typical use, including £25 MSE cashback. If you're already with BG, it's a no-brainer - there are no exit fees for switching to it, but you must apply as you won't get it automatically.

Reads as no exit fees on existing BG tariff.

Well you could click on the link in the newsletter - I found it in the online version - but here it is in case you missed it

WARNING:- When you follow the link above and log into the Cheap Energy Club, you will find that the link has set some of the display options to favour only the Big Energy Companies. So it fails to show smaller cheaper firms.

Thanks, it's just the wording 'if you know how' makes out there's more to it then just clicking the link in the cheaper energy club. Also anyone else thinking about it - this new tariff only includes boiler cover the energy plus protection includes Plumbing & Drains cover and Home Electrical cover too.

    It's a no-brainer if you're loyal to BG
    Or
    If you're loyal to BG, you're a no-brainer
