Sealing dusty concrete floor

What’s the best and hopefully cheapest way to seal a dusty garage floor. Will hopefully in the summer paint the floor. Thanks in advance

In my previous house the garage concrete floor was a typical rough floor, always dusty. I had it screeded to get a smooth surface, and then used floor paint to seal it.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.
  • I used Leyland Trade Floor Paint (Screwfix) last September to paint my garage floor. All I did was sweep and hoover, then wash thoroughly with soapy water and let it dry. No need to seal it.

My garage is quite a rough concrete floor, and while a couple of areas have flaked (only a couple cm square), it's doing well so far, surviving some minor abuse (shelving being dragged, building materials stored and moved around in there etc.).

If you're planning to actually put a car in there, you're likely going to need to lay a proper floor and ideally use an epoxy coating. From my research trying to choose a paint, floor paints just can't take the weight of a car and also seem to have a chemical reaction from tyres (although I've got a couple of rubber wheeled trolleys that have been fine on my floor). If going that route, rubber tiles (e.g. these) would likely be a cheaper and easier option.

A coat of diluted PVA will stop it dusting up and is very cost effective.

Thanks a lot for the replies . Will the pva do the trick looks like the cheapest option. Then will hopefully paint next month if the dust doesn’t resurface.
