Phone not as described

Hi
I would like to ask you for your opinions/what you would do in this situation. Ill try to keep it short.
On 4/3/19 I bought a used phone on eBay, a Xiaomi Mi 8 to be precise.
The listing lists various specs of the phone and one of them is NFC which would mean I could use it to pay for goods using Google Pay. I get an error when I try to add a card to my account. Listing doesn't say its non UK stock (I believe if its a phone for the Chinese market then Google Pay wont work) and as I say it does state NFC is 1 of the specs.
Now to my questions, would you
A return it for a refund
B ask for a small refund to compensate for not being able to use Google Pay, not sure how I could put an amount on this, I guess the price difference a phone with and without NFC.
Or C just forget about it
Ive contacted the seller asking if it was bought via a Chinese website, the seller does say in the listing "I got it for Christmas" which to me indicates it was bought as a gift for the seller and they would have no idea where it was bought from. Only give away it was for non UK/Europe market is the mains plug, it looks like an American plug. I should have picked up on the fact the plug was non UK/European.
I'm tempted to do either A or C but leaning to A as its not as described despite what the listing says.

My Xiaomi phone has a 2 pin charge cable and an adaptor.
I'm assuming it's not loaded with a global rom hence the problemsEx forum ambassador

If you are thinking of an eBay case watch your deadlines.
If you want to refund it as SNAD, then do it sooner rather than later and do it on eBay. You have to be within 30 days of estimated delivery...
If you want a small refund, you can ask, but the seller cannot be forced to do so and you may end up out of pocket if they refuse and the case times out.
If you want to forget about it then do...I have no idea wha the impact of the usage will be with/without the bits you want.0 -

Thanks, yes its cutting it fine to open a case which is why Im considering option C, use it for a year and then sell it.
Well the impact wont be life changing, just wont be able to get my phone out to pay for say lunch (I have my phone on me at work but not always a card), its more a convenient option to use Google pay.0 -

Why don't you open the case. The deadline is "to open". The seller is then given 8 days to resolve it. You can opt for a partial refund, close the case or full refund resolution in that time. What you can't do is decide outside the 30 to go for it..0 -
Some reason I used a credit card so I cant use Paypal, it would be the card provider I need to contact.0

Are you sure you didn't use Paypal as a guest and used your card through Paypal? If you can't see a way to open a dispute you can ring Paypal and ask them to open it for you. You will have the transaction ID in your email confirming payment.
You get 180 days from purchase to open a Paypal dispute but you will have to pay for the return (tracked viewable online). You can hopefully sign up for their "returns on us" scheme - although I don't know if it works with guest payments.....ask them when you call.
If you did pay by card then yes, back to your card provider. Have a read of the MSE guide on chargeback/Section 75. You may want to chose one or the other if they are applicable (you don't say how much the item was - or I missed it).0 -

I'll have to check but am sure I used the card.
Heard from the seller, it was a Christmas gift and he has no idea of where it was bought from.
I didn't mention the cost, it was £290 but I used an ebay discount code so paid £283.
Thanks for your help.0
