Some resorts have hire shops for stuff like this on top of the more usual skis, poles, boots type stuff... a lot don't though (make more money selling it and it can often be expensive buying in resort!) Places like TKmaxx are worth looking at for cheap branded ski gear (even seen goggles in there!) I personally use a decent set of mountain waterproofs and fleece/thermal layers underneath... can use all this for other activities then as opposed to insulated ski jackets and trousers that can only really be used for skiing...
Not sure if this helps!?

Hi. I think its prob best to buy jacket and salopettes etc in the UK first, cheaply. Aldi sell ski gear every year, ( aswell as tk maxx and matalan) the quality is fine, you can pick up jackets for £20 - 30 each in aldi! Goggles aren't really that expensive anyway if you're not going for the expensive brands, can definitely pick up a pair for £20. If you do a search I am sure there are a few threads on here wherer ppl have asked for a list of kit they will need for a first time skiing so that should give you a good idea of what to take.
I wouldn't buy boots before your first time as they are fairly pricey, so just hire those wit your skis etc.

hi i am too thinking of going off skiing in jan and had the same question as you and i have decided it would be cheaper to ebay as they sell loads of new and used stuff cheap i thought about renting or buying all new but if i brought all new and hated skiing it would work out a waste of money as ski gear is not that cheap0
