BT baby monitor -- wifi interference?

My friends have several BT Digital Video Baby Monitor 1000 devices. They also have intermittent problems with 2.4GHz wi-fi.
I've searched online, but can't find out what frequencies the baby monitors broadcast on.
Apparently they use Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) to switch between 52 channels, but... Could they be causing problems with wifi connectivity?

Probably, microwaves do. So many devices on 2.4GHz. Why are they not using 5GHz wifi?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

If it switches between 52 channels it sounds like it must be on 5Ghz as that is just about the only unlicensed band with that number of channels available. There are allocations at around 430 and 830 Mhz but they wouldn't have enough bandwidth any more than 2.4Ghz would.
Are there any dropouts on the monitor video?
That said this suggests 2.4 Ghz

If so then it isn't using standard wifi channels and protocol so will probably make complete mess of home and neighbours wifi.0 -

It's a big house in the middle of nowhere with several 14th Century stone walls that stop wifi signals dead.
The 2.4GHz APs have good coverage (some APs don't support 5GHz), and 2.4GHz has a better range than 5GHz. And they only use wifi for casual phone/tablet use, so data speeds aren't that important (especially with a mere 6MB/s ADSL connection).kwikbreaks wrote: »If it switches between 52 channels it sounds like it must be on 5Ghz as that is just about the only unlicensed band with that number of channels available.
Right, thanks. Yes -- there's only 13 2.4GHz channels IIRC...?kwikbreaks wrote: »Are there any dropouts on the monitor video?
No. The baby monitors work well; it's the wifi that doesn't! I've tried everything else, just clutching at straws really.kwikbreaks wrote: »That said this suggests 2.4 Ghz

I read that some (mainly older?) baby monitors use 2.4GHz, but not all. I just couldn't find anything to explain what frequency the BT ones use.
But yes -- I presume the fact they use 52 channels and FHSS probably rules out the baby monitors being the problem.
