  • The OP's reference to VIP benefits makes me think of the Amex Platinum Charge Card which explicity highlights VIP benefits on the micro site. It also has the Amex Rewards programme, which appears to be a lot less valuable than actual cash!
  • Just to consolidate the last few posts for the OP:

    The e-mails that you have been sent will be for the Platinum Charge card which offers such benefits as 2-4-1 business class plane tickets (only certain booking classes) and lounge access courtesy of a free priority pass. The card costs £300 p/a (which is actually good value as long as you travel quite a bit). It is NOT a credit card so any balance has to be paid off in full each month.

    The Platinum Credit card only offers more cashback and is free.
