Arugh when did Electricity become so confusing!

Am on a pre payment meter (Gas is D/D) I'd like to change to a cheaper tarriff, was with Our Power - our fairer energy Unit rate 14.94 per kWh standing charge 23.19 a day - £227.60 a year for my 928 kWh yearly usage

Unfortunately they went 'bust' so got put onto Utilita who insist I should have a smart meter, which personally i do not want nor can see point of, Just called them to ask if I can have a credit meter installed so can switch to a credit meter tariff, was told they can only install a smart meter, and apparently I can switch to a credit tariff and get the new supplier to install a credit meter...

Have been in 'talks' with Octopus, one mint hey say I can switch the next I cannot, depends who responds to the email!

I just want 'cheap' electric, anyone have any suggestions for a nice company who will give cheap elec to pre payment or even be a credit meter without a smart meter?

Has the world gone mad or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

due to the new price cap that came in this week , there are very few good deals about , the big 6 have raised there prices to maximum (because goverment says they can!)

I was on prepay with SSE , they increased prices , so I moved I am now with bulb (gas and electric) with pre payment , no smart meters

    my tariff for electric is

    Electricity
    Payment Method
    Top-up
    Electricity Unit Rate
    13.24p per kWh
    Electricity Standing Charge
    30.42p per day

I think your prices are Pre increase prices , so double check your numbers , as the unit rate was capped , however they are all sneaking past this by raiding standing charges

should you wish to move to bulb , message me and i will give you a referral code = £50 paid to your bank usually within 21 days
