PPI claim with clothes catalogues

Options
I had clothes catalogues about 30 years ago and was probably paying PPI, although I have no paperwork (nor recollection of the titles of the catalogues) and I have since got married. I don't have the details to go direct, but would a claims company be able to research and find the relevant details? Thanks.

No. Claims companies don't do 'research'. A claims company will ask you who you had PPI with, and why you think it was mis sold.

They will then mis-type that information onto the same form as you would and charge you a fortune for a second class stamp.

On the brightside, there won't be any records left after 30 years. anyway, so I would put this one to bed.

Such details are not in the public domain, so unless you have records yourself of this phantom PPI, you are wasting your time. There is no doubt that the Catalogue firms have kept no records from thirty years ago...
Do note that Claim Companies have no special investigative powers and their "service" is merely to represent you in your own complaint.
