Hello I received a PCN (windscreen) from Met Parking services. On reviewing the Newbie thread I now now I should have waited 28 days to appeal online. However I appealed and did not name the driver, using a template response. The have now sent me the below correspondence via email. Does anyone have a suggestion of what I should do next? Hold tight until they send the notice to keeper?
Thank you for your correspondence. Unfortunately due to legislation and regulation we may only consider appeals from the driver, the registered keeper (where we have obtained their details from the DVLA) or third parties where we have received written authorisation from the person liable for the charge notice. In order for us to consider your appeal please ask the driver to send us a letter authorising us to consider your appeal on their behalf. The letter should identify them as the driver and include their full name and full address. It should also include the vehicle registration mark and the charge notice number. This may be emailed to xxxxx uploaded to xxxxor posted to the above address. Please note if we do not receive this information or an appeal from the driver within 28 days of the charge notice being issued we will request registered keeper details from the DVLA and send a notice to the registered keeper.
Yours sincerely

Did you state that you are the keeper in your appeal?
What template did you use? Not the awful one from the awful "official" MSE parking section. I hope.
The scammers are lying in any case.
"The letter should identify them as the driver and include their full name and full address. It should also include the vehicle registration mark and the charge notice number."
No, the driver shouldn't do this and there is no requirement for them to do so. To suggest they "should" identify themselves as driver is a complete and utter lie.
If you appealed as keeper, stating the suchlike, then complain to the BPA that the scammers have denied you your right to appeal. An appeal can come from the driver, the (day to day) keeper, or the registered keeper. The scammers are again lying when they only say driver and registered keeper can appeal.
If you did not identity yourself as keeper, then send the appeal the blue text appeal from post 1 of the NEWBIES, ensuring you name yourself as keeper.
Please also complain to your MP about this unregulated scam, pointing out the lies and misinformation the scammers have used.
What happened when you complained to the landowner?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Thanks - I may have written this sentence "I decline your invitation to name the driver, which is not required of me as the keeper of the vehicle." but if not I wrote the below.
"You issued me with a parking ticket on but I believe it was unfairly issued. I will not be paying your demand for payment for the following reasons: xxxx
If you choose to pursue me please be aware that I will not enter into any correspondence and this will be the only letter you will receive from me until you answer the specific points raised in my letter.
Yours faithfully,"
So you suggest as a next step I wait for them to send a "notice to keeper" and then complain to the BPA or do that already?0 -
That looks like the letter from the "official" MSE parking section, which the regulars here advise you to avoid like the plague.
If you are not sure about stating you are the keeper, then send the blue template from the NEWIES, putting your name followed by, vehicle keeper.
Do it online if possible, but watch out for tick boxes that auto revert to The Driver if you click anywhere else on the page after selecting keeper.
Triple check then take a screenshot or phot before you submit to prove that keeper was selected.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

What ''reasons'' would you have put, in that appeal, exact words?
That is a terrible template appeal. MSE Towers have been told that, time and again.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well that's annoying as its exactly whats on their site as a template.
I cant remember exact words but the car was parked slightly out of the bay line but in a space that was only accessible for one vehicle so whether it was in or out, in no way was it impeaching or restricting access to any other car etc0 -

Thanks and yes it is which is incredibly frustrating as seemed like a logical first port of call. I have already submitted my appeal online along with my email and my address etc. As you correctly state, there is a drop down option to select "driver" or "keeper" which I selected keeper. Hence why I assume they have sent me the correspondence I pasted above. Given that I have done that are you suggesting that I go to the website again and use the template you suggest or just hold tight for the time being? Thanks again0 -
Wait for the POPLA code and assume you didn't type: ''in no way was I impeaching or restricting access to any other car...''
You will win at POPLA if MET forget to issue any Notice to Keeper, which is the whole point of our ''wait till day 26'' tactic and advice in the NEWBIES thread.
You appealed too early and with a dangerous template, but it sounds like you might have got away with not implying who parked, more by luck than judgement!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Defo didn't write "I" - which is a relief.0
