Impeded his vision

Police said Longsmith was seen wearing the mask - which would have impeded his vision.
When I visited the opticians they said that I was borderline in need of driving glasses, at the time I thought they just wanted to make money.
If I can read a number plate at 20.5 metres, is that the only test?

A cardboard queen mask would only have small holes to look through so ones vision would be impared.

But sounds like the only charges he actually faced were over whether he held (or needed) a Class D driving licence, and whether the bus had an MOT and legal tyres. Nothing over eyesight.

For the sake of £25 at Specsavers, I'd go & get some IIWY.

Even if the bus didn't have more than 8 seats its still plated for more than 7.5 tonnes so he would have needed either Cat C or Cat D licence.
