Sainsbury's online groceries

Today I had a Sainsbury's delivery of groceries. A princely £160 worth.
However, they failed to deliver almost £60 of the delivery for stock reasons!
Nothing unusual - bacon, cheese, tuna, baby stuff, soup etc.
I sent them an email about it and got a stock reply which indicated someone hadn't even read the email very carefully - ie 'I have sent a copy of your email to the XXXXXX store from where your order is picked, colleagues have been reminded to take more care when selecting customers' goods in future.'
Infuriating.
This is a prime reason why the hegemony of supermarkets is such a bad thing. Tesco's is poor, imo. Ocado's great but limited and expensive. Sainsbury's strikes a middle ground but just doesn't come up to scratch. (And doesn't seem to care).

I've always found them very helpful. I insist on having no substitutions, so accept that I could always be short. I always allow for the fact that something may not turn up in an order. That's why I switched to Sainsburys - Tescos didn't understand the concept of 'no substitutions'.
At least they didn't ambush you with more expensive substitutions (Tescos do that).
Hope that you get all the stuff you order next time.Always another chapter0 -
There is a large notice outside our local Sainsbury's store today apologising for shortages caused by problems at one of their supply depots. This may be the reason for the missing items. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
