Buying lease hold

Hi everyone
I am in the process of buying leasehold property at the moment.
Searches are back, mortgage stuff sorted literally just waiting for some bits from sellers solicitors.
Our solicitors have just received the lease information pack, they have requested some more information as some is missing.
My question is, what happens next? What’s the process from here?
Thanks :)

Once all the queries and questions are sorted you’ll probably move onto exchange of contracts and then completion.

Unfortunately a lot can crop up between now and exchange depending on exactly what the searches have revealed and the contents of the lease etc.

Is there a chain above you?

i.e. Is there somebody living in the flat you're buying, and do they need to buy somewhere else to live?

If so, you can only exchange contracts when everyone else in the chain is ready to exchange contracts.

It could be that everyone is ready now, or it could take them months to be ready.
  • You've stated leasehold property, hopefully it is a leasehold flat and not a house? If the later I would be doing some more research on leasehold for houses before signing anything.
