Is it just me or do Rightmove really need to get their own house in order and tidy up their website?
Here are the problems i see;
a) A collection of caravans variously described as detached homes, holiday homes,"lodges",bungalows etc.
b)Holiday homes/fixed structures etc advertised as homes when in fact they are holiday homes built
c)Houses being marketed on various dodgy schemes such as discounted for pensioners/people above a certain age,,sold on convoluted equity release schemes etc
mis-described properties eg a terraced being described as detached etc
It makes it much harder to find what you want. All these things above should have their own headings/sections/filters. If i want to live in a caravan i will go buy one. A "lodge" is a caravan.
There should be a click button on each ad to flag it as mis-described also.

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I doubt it's Rightmove's fault. It's probably up to the estate agents to tick the correct boxes when they load up the property details.
(Sometimes it will be laziness by the estate agents - failing to tick the right boxes.
But sometimes I suspect that they may purposely tick the 'wrong' boxes, to make the properties appear in more searches.)0 -
More a user error (i.e.agents) i used to hate seeing homewise appear with a 50% discount on 3 bed family homes0

These are all easy to fix:
* They need to add a button for users to report falsely listed properties.
* They need to manually review things reported as false.
* They need to punish offending agents by taking the listings down until they're fixed.
I'd also add- They should put any listing without both a floorplan and room measurements (preferably combined to the bottom of the listings for each day. Or charge extra for even having them on there.
* They should force agents to show the sq metres of habitable space as a headline figure and make it searchable.
* They should stop lying on their 'nearest station' stats and use the distance for a pedestrian rather than 'as the crow flies'
* They should force agents to link to the actual EPC report on epcregister.com.
* They need to make 'bungalows' a full separate category (in all the apps too) alongside the other house types - none of them show up by default on the mobile app searching for "houses".
* They need to ban caravans and mobile homes from all categories.
* They need to split out holiday lets into a separate site, if they actually care at all.0 -

you can report falsely listed properties and they do remove them.0 -
My biggest pet peeves are:
1) House boats showing up as houses. Seriously? Can Rightmove please add an option of a houseboat for agents. This will help those who want a house boat and those who don't immensely around London.
2) Retirement/new/shared homes showing up by default. Anyone who was interested in those would have actively ticked those thank you very much.
3) Houses shown by Price (high to low) by default, rather than recent. If Zoopla managed to work that out, why can't Rightmove?0 -

Odd my search for houses for sale defaults to high to low and rental defaults new to old.0
