Hi All
Not much garden experience with plants and I'm looking for a plant that will meet the following to place in front of a fence panel at the side of my house.
Will Grow to about 2 metre and be quite bush - About 2-3 Metre wide
Roots wont damage plastic drainage pipes or house
Doesn't mind heavy clay soil
Can thrive with only 2 hours of direct sun
Likes wet ground
Would like it to flower preferably not essential
Look forward to seeing some suggestions. TIA

Have a look at the RHS web site, just pop in what you are looking for, as above
https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/search-FormEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Check out a shrub called Hypericum (common name Rose of Sharon).
There are several in that genus, I thought the largest one would suit you.0 -
How close are the drainpipes and the house?0

No normal 2m tall shrubs will attack plastic drain pipes and most modern house foundations will be fine too. The old fashioned clay pipes are a different matter.
It's not a good idea to plant trees close to houses on clay soil because they complicate the natural expansion and shrinkage that will go on anyway. My last house was on clay and had under 30cm of foundation, but it still coped with average-sized shrubs planted alongside.
As for choice, I think the RHS finder is a very good place to start. I like Viburnum tinus as it's an easy shrub and in flower for a long time, but my priorities may be somewhat different from yours.0 -
Hydrangea possibly?
or fatsia japonica for foliage rather than flowers0 -
Mahonia, viburnum, forsythia, hydrangea, holly, and berberis, would all do okay there I think0
