    Morning all
We have the DGD here today, along with a runny nose and cough ! Her appetite is fine though as she has already demolished 2 pain au chocolate and an ice lolly and is now asking for a wafer ice cream . BTW she's as thin as a whip too, I must have missed that gene :(.
Not much will be done today, just a bit of pottering as I go to and from the kitchen feeding the DGD :rotfl:.
Tea tonight will be something that involves the leftover roast chicken from yesterday.
Will pop back later to have a catch up when DGD has gone home.
    Take care all

    Good morning everyone :hello:
Pinch Punch the first of the month and no returns!

I have been amusing myself this morning looking for April Fools in the news and on Facebook. I have spotted quite a few now which have been quite funny.

Steve has gone off to work ok although he was grumbling about the dark mornings too Nelski. At least it is a nice sunny day here at the moment. I have an ambulance outside my house so I am hoping my neighbour is ok.

The dogs are loving having the back door open though it is getting a bit chilly now. Poor Bobby had a bit of grass stuck up his nose and was sneezing away last night but thankfully seems fine today. I'm just waiting for DPD to turn up with their sack of dog food and I hope Lee can carry it into the kitchen for me.

I am making 2 different meals for dinner tonight. The girls and Steve are having chicken pie and Lee and myself are going to have chicken and leeks in a blue cheese sauce from my new cook book. Lee has never eaten stilton or the like before so I hope he will like this.

Well, I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are doing. Special big hug for silver-oldie. I am horrified that you are being treated this way by your 'D'S and his wife. Take care all xx

    Morning All

Happy new month, can't believe it's April already.

I had a fabulous weekend, lots of good company, good food and champagne - what's not to like! Saturday was a very late night, I think it was 5.30 when I went to bed, slept for a couple of hours then went for a walk around the Glasgow Necropolis, lovely and quiet on a Sunday morning. Met DD for lunch and she gave me a run home - I feel like I've been on holiday!

I have DS1 and the DGC coming today for a few days, really looking forward to it but not the chaos they bring!

Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX

    Morning all.

I went out very early to do some shopping and drop off a very smelly bag of rubbish to the tip. It was on my 'to do' list on Saturday before I ran out of time and now became urgent.

DM is not too good, I knew that once she was home she'd take to bed and not get up! At least in hospital they were very proactive in making her sit in a chair, if I try she tells me she's too tired. Not sure what to do, I'll ask the district nurse when she turns up.

    Happy Monday everyone.

Gers I'm sorry your DM is not so good. I hope the district nurse was able to help. Would it be possible to get a carer in, just for the morning, to get her up and out of bed ? Perhaps DM would listen to a stranger, so to speak.
DD collected the DGD before tea and DGD had got her second wind.... I wish I could bounce back like that . I was worn out after some gentle colouring and this afternoon, she'd been on a plane to New York and Ibiza :rotfl:.
I did manage to put a load of washing out this morning and it's almost dry, thanks to RedRuby sending some sun back this way :j. I have also put out the green waste bins and the recycling box. Mr Fix It cooked tea and I have filled the DW and pressed the button.

I shall now put my feet up for the rest of the evening and do some gaming/ TV watching.
    Take care all

What did the district nurse say Gers?

Thanks for asking...the DN told DM gently but firmly that bed was her enemy and that staying there was asking to die! Couldn't have put it better myself. After that DM sat in her chair for almost an hour and is going to get up again shortly to watch TV.

Seems that continued pain in her leg (shin area as opposed to hip / wound area) was a problem so I phoned the GP. GP was amazed that mum was sent home with only paracetamol so prescribed Oramorph for her. In whizzed out to collect it, gave mum a dose and she's been asleep since. :rotfl: I'll make sure she gets more regular doses as she tends to wait too long even when taking paracetamol. Not an easy patient!

I felt better for getting outside, there's nothing much for me to do at DM's house so I must make sure I go out every day after the nurse has been. Definitely bored.

Candygirl - another family story to break my heart. So sorry!

Virtual hugs to all in pain.

SO, hope your day goes well, maybe you shoud share your disappointment with them, and ask is there a particular reason that they don't visit expecially when they live so close.

taff I'm sure they will say it's me, something I said or did / something I didn't say or do. or maybe just because there is a y in the day of the week!! who knows

    Candygirl I'm so sorry hugs
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.
  • My heart goes out to you SO and CANDY with your indifferent offspring, especially as you are both deprived of contact with DGC as well. That's the sad part.

GERS sorry to hear that DM is being a problem patient. It's hard work trying to be tolerant when they get stubborn. Let's hope the DN's words hit home.

Have a nice evening folks xx
