Fizz

Who are Fizz - they try to sell cheap line rental over the phone, direct you to their website then want you to read out your bank details over the phone! Seriously dodgy and SERIOUSLY aggressive? Any comments please?

Yeah, they sound like a right bunch of cowboys. They phoned my business and tried to get us to switch. We use call18866 so told them no but they phoned up about another 6 times before I eventually told them to **** off. They haven't called back again.

Found their website (I won't post a link) and tried to find out their tariffs.

Apart from line rental guaranteed to be 50% less than BT for the first 12 months and some (it doesn't say which) international calls at 2.99p/minute, there wasn't a lot of interest.

In particular, it concerned me that the buttons labelled 'View Tariff' actually did nothing at all when clicked from Firefox and produced an unhelpful message "UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Please visit again soon, This page is currently being updated" when clicked from IE (bringing up a table of tariffs on each would have been nice). I think you're supposed to "trust them, they're a telephone company."

    Yeah, right.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
