£13 exactly at Morrisons, but it would help if they ever had any on the shelf!!

you probably find if you ask one of the sales assistants to get you some, it will be in stock, generally as a rule they only ever keep 1 or 2 on the shelf, to stop loads getting nicked, so if they get brought, and sales assistants dont replenish quickly enough, thats why it would appear to be out of stock, HTH Dave.

yeah i think it is up to each stores discretion, if it is a store that has not a very high thieving problem, there may be loads out, but our store has a high problem with thieves, and if our area manager came into store and saw more than 2 on the shelve, he would have a heart attack, lol

  • Hate to be picky, but it irritates me when people call Jack Daniels a bourbon. It isn't!!!!

Try Wild Turkey as an alternative to Jack which is a bit overated IMO
I'd love to, and have been looking for Wild Turkey 101 lately, but can't seem to find it around here - any tips?

I'd like to know where to get Wild Turkey 101 as well and even better 12 year old Wild Turkey 101. It's a bit difficult nipping out to the USA for a booze shop, but it is £11 a litre
  • Bulleit is very nice, and you cant taste the difference really. Its a bit smoother than Jack. Plus it IS a bourbon!!:D
I'll second your vote for Bullit! As I understand it, it's made using more corn and less rye than a regular bourbon, which is one reason it's smoother. :D

Plus, as you say, it's a bourbon not a sour mash. I never did work out whether it actually comes from Bullitt County though....

Thanks for thanking me SandLake: Hopefully this will return the favour:

You can currently buy the 8yo version of Wild Turkey 101 at Tesco's, for £16.99 a bottle! :D

Aye, I quite like Wild Turkey now too, but I see why they call it the Kickin' Turkey - it's got some BITE that's for sure :D

Other way round buddy - bulleit has a higher rye content than many bourbons. :)

Most bourbons are "sour mash" bourbons, even if they don't say on the bottle. All the "sour mash" means is that a bit of the previous batch made (which by now has gone sour) is used in the next batch, adding the slight hint of sourness to the taste. :)

It's named Bulleit after creator, Augustus Bulleit in Louisville, KY, (Jefferson County) but is now made in Lawrenceburg, KY (Anderson County).

    Hope this helps. :)
