Dodgey estate agents

Last year the house above my granny went up for sale I called the day the for sale sign went up, I was told it was under offer. I was still on sale for 3 months every time I called the estate agent they said they were waiting on paper work to go through. Anyway is was bought and put up for let by a private landlord. I believe someone at the estate agents bought it and never told the sellers they had other offers to get it cheap.
I believe this is happening again, I have enquiring about a house that has been up for sale since October every time I call they say it's under offer. Surely it doesn't take this long.
Is there someone I can report this to ? I believe the estate agent isn't selling it so they can buy it cheaper to private let.
I live in Glasgow

What are you actually going to report? That the two sales that you've been involved with took longer than the norm?0

Nothing sounds unreasonable or underhand. Estate agent is asked to market a property and they will a) call those who have left their details as they have expressed an interest in properties of this type b) post property details on Rightmove etc c) get a minion to go and stick a "for sale" sign up outside the property. All three actions will not take place simultaneously.
Properties in my road are often marketed without "for sale" signs ever going up - several times the first we've known is when the removals van arrives.0 -
Why not contact the seller direct to ask them if they would be interested in considering your offer?0

Our old neighbours agreed a price to sell their house within 3 days of listing with the EA. The sign didn’t turn up till a week after that and stayed up for about 2 months.
The sign is advertising for the EA as much as anything now thanks to the internet.0 -

It might do. If the seller isn't bothered then why are you?I have enquiring about a house that has been up for sale since October every time I call they say it's under offer. Surely it doesn't take this long.
Then surely they'd want the sale to settle quickly? Why would they deliberately drag it out? Doesn't make sense.I believe the estate agent isn't selling it so they can buy it cheaper to private let.0 -
