    Good luck and keep polite and calm and above all factual in all your communications. Don't get dragged into thoughts or feelings eg "I feel it should stay up longer".

    Just "you did A, then B happened, and what I expect to happen next is C. If that doesn't happen then D"
  • yep that's exactly what I have been doing, but thank you for reminding me as it is a bit upsetting as we paid a lot for this to happen

    It's very unusual for a brick wall to fall down that quickly and as mortar mixes can vary considerably for a variety of reasons it is very unusual for a mortar mix to be so weak that the wall falls over in this short time. This has made me interested to know what mortar specification was diagnosed and if there were any other factors that could contribute such as the height and length of the wall and were there any supporting piers etc to provide any additional support.

    I agree with garrysibbald there is more at fault that the mortar.
    More details about the construction of the wall are required including pictures if possible.
