Betacom glowworm 30c diverter valve motor replacement

Hi all,
I am after some advice here.
In our new house we have an old Glowworm Betacom 30c boiler (possibly more than 8 years old). Unfortunately, despite being serviced just 3 months ago it broke down. A plumber came in and said that the diverter valve motor broke down. Was quoted about £300 for replacing the motor or, as advised by the plumber, a new boiler (up to £3k) with 10 year warranty. That was couple of weeks ago, just before I went on holiday. In the meantime, the plumber at least did something with the valve and manually switched it to hot water only.
I found a motor online and it seems like a straightforward replacement while we save a bit of money for a new boiler as I am not prepared to spend £300 on an old boiler that could break down with something else later.
My question is, does anyone know what the guy did with the valve? I could not see any manual override switch or anything like that and when I replace the motor, I want to make sure that I will be able to use both how water and CH. The only thing I could see after removing the motor from the valve is a small pin that is presumably pressed by the motor.

Hi, actually after rereading plumber's report, it seems that valve cartridge is leaking into the motor, which is causing the issue. I may need to replace both the cartridge and motor.0

The 3 way valve divertor motor costs around £30, manufacturers part no. 0020118640
The 3 way valve service kit costs around £60, manufacturers part no. 0020119266

Hi, thanks for that. I've actually looked this up but cannot find any guide for replacing this specific cartridge.0
