Holiday rep. Worked 16 hours a day minimum. Half a day off a week. No breaks, lunch hour etc.....

I used to load and unload containers. There were no ramps for the forklifts so things were dropped at the end and moved forward 20 or 40'. 15-16 hours were normal, longest I did was 24 hours.
Could be 40 gallon drums, which aren't too bad, till you got to the second layer or squeezing something that weighed 60kgs into a corner at the top because it was the right fit and groupage containers are all about stuffing them to the max.

Working in a garden centre and unloading bags of compost and peat by hand. Nothing delivered on pallets or unloaded with forklifts there. To be honest I didn't think of it as physically demanding at the time as I was young and fit. It would kill me now.0
