Saw this on another forum so thought I would start it here

I will start - probably surprising working at a supermarket in the car park pushing trolleys for 6 hours was quite tiring

You obviously haven't been in the work force for long

I used to enjoy doing the trolly round ups, meant I could have a few unofficial smokes, get some fresh air and have a good old natter with customers and staff :)

I done trolleys for a year. Perks were extended morning tea breaks as shop was quiet after school run, no one really cared when you went for breaks. Great to chat to mates and customers. Wasn’t physically tiring but in the !!!!ing rain it wasn’t pleasant. That said, good for “steps” when it go got busy, Friday evenings. Actually used to be a laugh as all staff would see you and most would chat! One of those jobs that get a bad rep, but prob the best in store! Not stuck on a till!

It seems you can no longer think up pointless threads for yourself but have to copy from another forum! Why bother?
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

We got two 10 min breaks and were on piece work. Some fast pickers could get about £2 a day - it was 1970's. I only managed £1 a day. I was only 13 years old though.

Ah it's just a bit of fun. Let's enjoy.

When I was in Secondary School (long time ago now) I got a Summer job in the local Maternity hospital, which just happened to be where I was born too!

My job was serving breakfasts to the new mothers. In those days, the milk came in a HUGE churn and weighed a ton and had to be decanted into jugs and then into smaller jugs for the mother's trays. Honestly there was no health and safety in those days, just trying to decant the milk from a ton weight of a churn was something else!

    But I survived.

I also was in charge of the boiled eggs. 30 eggs per huge pot. How the heck anyone got the type of egg they wanted was beyond me. Was just told 5 minutes once the water boiled, and done! Had a huge scoop to place the eggs in and take out of the water. Plenty of mishaps. ha ha.

But it was great. All the mothers in those days had their babies in a nursery overnight, and were kept in for a few days recovery. All the mums were in great form!
