    A cease and desist letter, using the template above seems to be relating to someone using your intellectual property.

    It is, you simply alter it to fit.
    You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    Just to complete this thread.
    I've emailed the legal team at excel, and they came back to me almost straight away and said the account is now closed. (as of about a day after they sent the letter)
    So it was obviously a speculative last gasp attempt. What a load of absolute cowboys.

    Hooray - and quite right too. They were trying it on.

    It should be illegal to demand a 'debt' that's statute barred. Unfortunately it's not.
