  • Camelot, my granddaughter is coming back on Monday as well, heaven help us

She'll be cardmaking and glittering again, last night I even saw glitter on DH's bald patch.

I think I'll cut down on buying it, glitter is the work of the devil.

I decided to go to the shop when it opened, perchance something half price that I could use - often this ends in failure, but this morning I got two 750g packs of mixed pork/beef mince at £1.50 each.... and 2.5Kg of maris piper spuds for 75p ... and some oven bottom muffins for 26p.

So I came home and used up an onion (just before it sprouted) and turned one pack of the mince into a kebab. So now I've got kebabs to eat later (and again later .. and tomorrow, twice ... and .. ad infinitum).

The 2nd pack I'll shove in the freezer because when I turned around to look at the utter devastation of the kitchen after making one small batch of kebab I CBA to do the same to the 2nd pack and just tidied/cleaned/washed up from the first lot instead.

So that's my "old style" bit done for the day: getting my bum into gear, getting a bargain, making better food than toast :)

    Hello all

    Happy Birthday for yesterday OL.
    Candygirl, thinking of you.

If I'm not around too ,uh, it is just that I've a lot of things going on and am not feeling particularly cheerful.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • AOD It sounds like you need a (((BIG HUG))), Whatever's bothering you I hope it soon resolves and you are soon back to your cheerful self.

CANDYGIRL I keep thinking of you. You and Bonnie must feel bereft. Having lost 3 dogs and 2 cats myself over the years I know just how you are feeling. x

AOD I'm sending you a special hug too. I hope you can get back to being your cheery self soon.
PasturesNew thank you for your post on the oven bottom muffins. That's something I had never heard of and I had to g00gle it. You can learn about something new everyday :T
ScarletR I don't remember ever having any of the glittery stuff when I was a child , but I agree about the mess. No matter how careful you are it still manages to get in the most peculiar places :rotfl:.

Well my afternoon in the garden didn't happen as we had to pull out the fridge / freezer instead. There seemed to be a funny smell coming from behind it ( think really whiffy cheese _pale_ ) and I thought something may have fallen behind it. Anyway it turned out to be emanating from the condenser, so Mr Fix It has cleaned it and all the pipes. Et Voila ! it smells lovely and fresh now. Meanwhile I took the opportunity to sweep the walls, clean the floor and skirting boards.
Later as my reward for a busy day, I think I shall have a relaxing bubble bath :D
    See you all tomorrow xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently
