Where can I find the reliable list of best 10 car insurance companies?

Options
My car insurance is due for renewal in 2-3 days and I have got quotes from Confused.com and also from my bankers. I am not able to decide which one to pick from these.
Can someone suggest a reliable best 10 can insurance companies ?
Currently I am inclined to pick one of these but this list is not based on extensive research though.
1. Aviva: my current insurer. £530. My current insurer.
2. direct line £509.60 . Got letter from them so thought of giving them a try.
3. Lloyds 387: My banker. Also, I had policy with them about 2 years back,

The excesses and extras I have entered are almost the same.
Appreciate any help here.

Thanks,
Am

You really need to define what you mean by "best", and then somehow quantify it. To some people, "best" means cheapest, but other people value the customer service interaction at the time of sale, or the experience in the event of a claim. There are other factors such as speed and accuracy of response.

Assuming you don't want to just judge a company on one of these factors, you would also need to decide the relative level of importance you want to place on each. Your decisions on this will probably differ from those of other people - so your "best" is unlikely to be someone else's "best".

If you do decide to just consider one of these factors - cost - the problem here is that there are probably several dozen inputs that each insurance company uses to assess risk, and each of those is likely to have an impact on the cost of the premium, and each will vary from company to company. So even if you simplify "best" down to meaning "cheapest", the result of all of these variables is that the "best" cost result for one person is very unlikely to be the same for another, chosen at random.

    Thank you for your reply.
I think I my priority would be :
    1. High claim settlement probability
    2. Customer care and speed during a claim
    3. Cost
Any website that helps me to filter out based on these?

No , because it's not data that's freely available.

You need to do your own research on review websites before purchasing

As you can see many sites give different results NFU is always tops have used them in the past for insurance especially good for horses, etc

But to me they went really expensive?

As fatbelly states Topcashback, Quidco for some good deals, but it is competitive and usually for new customers.

Just noticed you have 29 posts now and member since 2013 and have never thanked anyone for their help?

Not that you need or even have to. Sorry not had my first cup of coffee yet LOL

But some posters seem to have put a fair bit time and effort researching for you. Did you find the advice unhelpful here or in your previous threads? if not it is courtesy to some times thank people?

That is why there is a big blue button under their posts marked thanks that people can press if they think the posters advice is helpful?
